Our ScholarshipsCommunity sponsored scholarships enhance student self-esteem, promote diversity in the community and support students sensitive to the human rights of all persons. Students from Blythe to Banning, throughout the Coachella Valley and the high desert area are invited to apply for scholarships. Selection is based on proven academic ability, individual goals, demonstrated success, civic and school activities, financial need and sensitivity to human rights issues. In 2008, the Desert Rainbow Foundation was very pleased to be able to award 15 scholarships of $2,500 each to very qualified students selected from 46 applicants! We'll be posting more details about our 2008 Scholarship Recipients shortly. In the meantime, click here to meet our 2007 Scholarship Recipients! The Teddy Bear ProgramCommunity donations enable The Desert Rainbow Foundation Children in Crisis Program to distribute Teddy Bears bearing the Foundation logo to children in area shelters, courts, hospitals and through local police and fire departments. Since the beginning of the program, The Desert Rainbow Foundation has donated over 1,000 teddy bears and budgeted for 1,500 more in 2006.
